Position Summary: Deputy Finance and Administration Manager
The National Bargaining Council seeks to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Deputy Finance and Administration Manager. The successful candidate will provide high-level support to the Finance and Administration Manager across financial management, governance, compliance, and
administrative operations. This role offers exposure to a complex and regulated environment and requires a hands-on individual capable of contributing to both operational and strategic functions.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of annual financial statements, management accounts, and reports
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
Assist in monitoring revenue, expenditure, and cash flow
Support accounts payable and receivable processes
Assist in general ledger reviews and monthly reconciliations
Financial Reporting and Compliance
Assist with preparation of reports for Board, Committees, and management structures
Support compliance with IFRS, financial regulations, and internal policies
Assist with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements
Assist with internal and external audit processes
Support preparation of audit documentation and responses to queries
Assist in monitoring internal controls and risk management processes
Administration and Operations
Support the management of administrative systems and processes
Assist in ensuring accurate record-keeping and data integrity
Contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of operational processes
Systems and Process Improvement
Assist in maintaining and improving financial systems (including Microsoft Dynamics and SAP)
Support system-related projects and process improvements
Assist in monitoring data accuracy and reporting trends
Payroll and Financial Administration
Assist in payroll processes and related statutory submissions
Support compliance with tax and payroll regulations
Assist in liaising with auditors, governance structures, and external stakeholders
Support responses to financial and administrative queries
Provide ongoing support to the Finance and Administration Manager
Perform delegated tasks and responsibilities as required
Assist with financial and administrative aspects of special projects
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
Professional qualification (CA(SA), CIMA, ACCA or similar) advantageous
Minimum 5–7 years’ relevant experience in finance and administration
Experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and compliance
Exposure to audit processes
Experience in a regulated or governance-driven environment advantageous
Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards
Experience with accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics & SAP preferred) and advanced Excel skills required
Understanding of payroll systems (SAGE/VIP advantageous)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
High level of accuracy and attention to detail
Strong organisational and planning ability
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
Valid driver’s licence and own transport

Remuneration
Basic Salary R51 628.00
Travel Allowance R10 636.00
Cell R357.00
Pension (6% Employer and 6% Employee Contribution)
Remuneration may be structured flexibly on a Cost-to-Company basis, subject to mutual agreement and Council policy
